My Full Story
From a young age I was exposed to the world of filmmaking. Growing up watching my father's career as an actor, I was always  extremely interested in the filmmaking process. From following him to auditions, to volunteering to be an extra on film sets, my interest increasingly grew at a rapid speed. Currently attending San Diego State University's film program, I am able to make my film ideas come to life. GOOD VIBRATIONS
October 2016 - December 2016
Being the writer and director for this film was both fun and challenging. Many hours of hard work went into this film and it is one of my examples of a short comedy.
MY BIG FAT FAMILY WEDDING
March 2015
This was the very first short film that I ever wrote & directed. The story of an engaged couple trying to plan their wedding but slowly finding out, they are in fact related.
IN THE SHADOWS
November 2016
This was a project I directed for class, trying to create 3 different shadows at once from my one actress. It was tricky getting the lighting right, but in the end the contrast turned out nice.
JOEY
October 2015
This is a short documentary on my father, Joey Miyashima, and how he made it as an Asian American actor in California. This was the first documentary I've ever directed and filmed.
